Kelsey's Steak House

I have to say the staff here is very respectful all the servers would take care of everyone else's plates, even if it was not their table. Everyone was friendly had a smile on their face. The manager came over and talked to us, we told her to congratulate the cooks on their awesome job. Our server Heath was excellent & playing in all questions answered any and all of our questions thoroughly. We never lacked for anything. Can't say enough good things about the place. You should try it out sometime. Average dinner price is $20 so go and enjoy.

Best prime rib I had for some time I'll be back

Best steakhouse in NW Indiana.Been putting off eating here because of the large volume this place does.............my mistake. The parking lot was packed, and we only had to wait 8 minutes to be seated by friendly hostess. Waitress was excellent, orders were perfect and food was unbelievable.The 16oz prime rib was best I've ever had.............EVER! The homemade bread was delicious and the twice baked potato done to perfection. The wife had the NY Strip and was equally pleased. She also loved the grilled, skewered shrimp add-on as well. Our Frnch onion and Seafood Bisque soups we started with came with the regret of not upgrading to a bowl from a cup.Overall, way better than expected and we won't wait 3 more years to return.

Always great service and great food

Went to Kelsey's for our Anniversary for a special meal. We were seated right away. The waiter Alex, was very courteous friendly and knowledgeable. Wife had the Prime Rib and I choose the Rib Eye...The Rib Eye arrived and was cook perfectly, very tender and tasted great. The wife enjoyed the prime rib and shrimp, saying it was delicious. The baked potato was excellent also. Enjoyed talking with Alex, who was very attentive also. We will be going back for dinner in the near future. Kelsey's is the best restaurant In Valparaiso !

Loved it.. fairly high priced. Steak was just how i wanted. Friendly server. House packed and we still did not wait very long for our food..😊

We did call-ahead seating for our party of 5, arrived on time and had a table waiting for us. The staff were all great! Service was prompt and attentive. The bacon-wrapped scallops were delicious -- unfortunately, there were only 3, but large enough to split and share for a taste. Our steaks were all really good. From the drink menu I recommend the Daisy Bourbon...it was sooo good. Can't wait to go back!

Our first visit to Kelsey's Steak and Seafood was on one of their busiest days of the year, Mother's Day. Despite it being so busy our service and food were both very good.As it was a special occasion they were offering several specials, we selected a generous portion of fried calms. The order was filled with big, fat strips of yummy clam meat. It was a great choice. We also enjoyed the Lake Perch, the shrimp that came with the steak medallions, and the Snicker pie. It was all delicious.The restaurant itself is quite large, there is a bar with seating available for dining as well as drinking. However, the restroom is small in comparison. The size of the restroom could make it a little challenging for wheelchairs.One other note, the wine list online is not current...so don't pick out a wine before you arrive at the restaurant. Don't despair though, the wine choices in the menu were good.

Everyone's steaks were cooked properly and the service was great. We'll be back!

Kelsey's had remained a decent place to get a steak over the years. However as my experiences have broadened and my tastes changed I feel the a better stand to be had. Three service is always good and the atmosphere is pleasant.I would recommend eating here for consistency alone.

I ate at the original Kelsey's across from Portage high school back in the old days and it was delicious. Here decades later the food and service is still the best.

As always this is an amazing steak and desert restaurant! With all of the craziness going on right now, please consider coming here for dinner. They wipe absolutely every surface down as guests leave. There is nothing left out such as salt and pepper. If you ask for something rest assured that it has been as sanitized as possible. We love this place and drive over two hours to eat here😁

Perch was not crispy and tasted like butter but not in a great way( 6 small pieces). My friend had ribs and they were meh. Neither one of us finished our food. I said something to manager and waitress. So they were aware. Should have gotten steak since I've never been there before. Travel this way frequently for work and always looking for a decent place for dinner.

Connor our Server Certainly was a highlight to my birthday evening. The Lobster ,Chilean Sea Bass,Manhattans, And surprise birthday cake at the end all helped of course <3

Food was good, service was good. Don't look at the online menu. It must not have been updated in the last decade. No more early bird specials, I guess. At 4:30, they were already very busy.

Always love coming here. Mothers day we had no wait for the 3 of us and the food was decent.

Best prime rib around, nice cuts, medium rare, just they way it should be.

I really enjoyed this place. The was cream of potato and it was good. The red potatoes were great. The prime rib was very good. This is a place I would definitely return to.

My family and I had a nice celebration at Kelsey's tonight. We came for the early bird specials and enjoyed the filet medallions which were tender and juicy, grilled to perfection. The waitstaff was very attentive. The restaurant looks so beautiful all decorated for Christmas. I recommend Kelsey's.

Food was great... cooked to perfection. Service was great also. The last couple of times I have been there I have no complaints.

The food was absolutely delicious. My wife's family went there for her mother's birthday and ten out of ten will return. I had the prime rib and I could cut it with just my fork it was that tender. The wife had the new York strip and she absolutely loved her meal. We got desert as well, we shared a slice of Reese's peanut butter cake, was to die for. If you want a tender, mouth watering cuts of steak Kelsey's is the place to go.

Seafood bisque wasn’t great - really watery and not a lot of meat. Filet was excellent, thick cut and flavored well. The Howie dessert was also excellent - a couple people said it was too rich for them but it was right up my alley

We had an amazing in this place. We enjoyed the wonderful ambience and the menu. The staff are very amiable. I am content we eventually decided to try this place.

Knowing it was Valentine's Day my husband and I were unsure of the wait, but when we got there at about 7p, it was only a half hour wait. It worked out perfectly! We had great food and a great server (I didn't catch her name).

Wonderful atmosphere, wonderful service. We had the portabello mushroom appetizer extremely excellent. Tomahawk Ribeye was tender Cooked to perfection and extremely tasty. Well worth your stop for a wonderful meal

Went here as a surprise from my husband, for our Anniversary. The parking lot was packed, but we were able to be seated in 10-15 mins. Our waitress was very wonderful and helpful. We got the whole shebang; drinks, apps, entree and dessert. Everything was delicious and tasted so fresh/made to order. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and so delicious. It was such a nice atmosphere and also neat that we could see the cook(s) making our meals. The one grilling the steaks, etc. looked so focused, skilled and precise. Was happy that they were able to cook my food separate, since I have a mushroom allergy. Will definitely come back and let others know about our good experience.

Everything tasted great, we got in right away but the only thing we didnt like was our food was just warm. Prime rib is delicious but you want it hot along with your potatoes and everything was Luke warm

Delmonico ribeye, potato, clams. I've been to steakhouses charging twice as much that were lower quality. The service couldn't be better. Just a great experience all around.

Good spot, service was slow but not crazy, their steak was excellent though!

This is still, in my view, the best steakhouse in the area. I have never eaten anything bad here or cooked wrong. The steaks literally melt in your mouth. Try the filet medallions, they are delicious!

First time here, was craving a steak and baked potato.... Hostess was super smiley and nice. No wait time, sat at table#2 where you can see the guys cooking the meat! Waitress was friendly and efficient. New York Strip Steak was delicious 👌.... Definitely will be back 👍.

Great service! Shelley was an amazing server! The best server and went above and beyond! Food was Delicious and priced right! I forgot to take pictures of the escargot and shrimp cocktail. The prime rib is the supreme, 40 oz. Of deliciousness! The Alaskan snow crab was cooked perfectly!

Last time we ate at Kelsey's they were in a different location. Guess it's been awhile. We were passing through & decided to stop. Menu is a little different, prices up a little but all in all the food was still delicious. We got the ribeyes & service was good.

I had the special, Princess cut bacon wrapped filet mignon. It was delicious! Don't forget to save room for the Howie chocolate cake! It's amazing!

I wish I could give this place 10 stars. My fiancé and I came here the other night, the service was a 10, the food was the best, and it came out very quickly for a Saturday night. This was the best steak I have ever had for sure! We will definitely be back!

Always great! The service was exceptional. The food is always beyond perfect. Yes, the food if pricey. But when paired with amazing service and wonderful food, it's ok to splurge every once in a while! We go here yearly, and will continue to do so!

Definitely a fancy establishment. I went there for the food and I was not disappointed. Prime rib with shrimp was excellent. Bar staff was friendly and very accommodating. Wil go again if I have to visit the area!

Steak, chicken, seafood, whatever you fancy cooked to perfection, and served by top staff.Prices are a bit higher, but worth every penny. Don't miss if you have a chance to swing by.

Very good steak house. The filet is the best steak on the menu. Usually busy so call ahead. Good classic place. We still take our kids.
